After this class, you will be armed with the knowledge and confidence to plan dives in some of the Northwest's trickiest places! We will analyze these high current areas and will complete the class with a complete current profile for a day of your choosing.

Some of the concepts we will cover include:

• How to calculate the duration of slack at any dive site
• How to calculate the speed of the current at anytime, anywhere
• The rule of thirds for calculating current speed between high slack and low slack
• What phase the tide is in when the moon is overhead
• Why slack in the Puget Sound occurs approximately at high and low tide, and why slack on the Penninsula occurs between high and low tides
• Coastal currents patterns
• Guidelines for judging current flows......and much more!

This workshop qualifies you for an additional option of planning and completing 2 dives and earning a PADI Distinctive Specialty Certification as a NW Current Diver.
