Night diving turns the ordinary into the extraordinary! A dive site that lacks excitement during the day, is action packed at night! Many species are nocturnal and can be found hunting for prey in the evening. Diving at night gives you the opportunity to see some of the more elusive critters of the Sound in action.

The PADI Night Diving Specialty will teach you everything you need to know to dive with confidence on your own at night . You will learn some of the best night diving locations in the Sound, how to navigate at night, and where to look for many nocturnal hunters including harbor seals, dogfish sharks, ratfish, and more!

The class consists of three dives, usually conducted on three separate evenings. Before each dive you will practice making a pre-dive plan with your buddy, come up with navigation solutions, as well as consult fish and invertebrate books to create a “hunting list” for the dive.
