The Pelagia Bookshop

One of the popular series of marine life books published by the Sea Challengers.

The book includes color photographs of all 217 known species of nudibranchs inhabiting the ocean waters from Alaska in the north to Baja California in the south.

The descriptions of each species include geographic range, maximum size, and other facts for the budding nudibranch enthusiast to put to rest any doubts about what species have been observed.

Pacific Coast Nudibranchs

If you buy only one book on Pacific Northwest sea life, make it this one.

Encompassing years of research, this book covers just about every species you may encounter underwater. Includes full-color photos and detailed descriptions.

This book will definitely help settle any debate over which species you saw on that last dive, as well as provide tons of information for underwater naturalists of any level.

Marine Life of the Pacific Northwest


This excellent book was written by Rick Harbo, a diver and marine biologist with Fisheries and Oceans Canada in British Columbia.

Designed for use by everyone from avid divers to occasional beachcombers, the book is an excellent reference to over 400 commonly encountered species of plants, animals, and everything inbetween.

It's very useful as a quick-identification guide and it's consice information makes it great for dive logging and discussion once you've returned to the surface.

Probably More Than You Want to Know About the Fishes of the Pacific Coast


Calling Dr. Love—there's probably no other book that packs in so much information about Pacific coastal fishes and makes you laugh at the same time.

Milton Love, a "moderately well-respected" marine biologist, lists the origins of scientific names, distribution, description, biology, and general gastronomic characteristics of hundreds of fishes.
